Kim Diehl Project

Friday, May 21st

10:00am - 3:00pm

Cost: $30

Instructor: Pam Keefe

This is a project from Kim Diehl’s most recent book “Simple Comforts”.  If you like to appliqué and would like to try machine appliqué with no raw edges this would be a perfect opportunity.  She has developed a method that uses freezer paper, basting glue and monofilament thread.  You get the look of hand appliqué with the ease of using your sewing machine.  This is a great project because it has some piecing and some appliqué. The appliqué pieces are fairly large which will make it easier to learn on. We will learn easy points, gentle curves and a great bias stem technique.  We will have a starter kit available which will include the backgrounds, pineapple fabric and 1 green that you can use for the vines.  The rest of the project is a great chance to pull your favorite fabrics from your stash. We will have the book available for purchase.  You will need it to do this project. But, don’t fret about purchasing the book.  There are so many projects in there that you will love.

Come and join us on May 21 for a fun and relaxing day of sewing.  Yes, we will be learning something but it will be made easy and stress free.

10:00am-3:00pm

Pam Keefe, Instructor

If you have always wanted to paper piece (or foundation piece) but were afraid of all those patterns that have real small pieces then, listen up.

I’ll be giving a beginners paper piecing class. The pattern is a wreath with large pieces.  It can be done for any season.  We are offering to kit it for you if you tell us what season you are interested in.  We are offering Christmas/Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn.

Be brave and make one for each season.  I know you will enjoy the project and want to make more.

Join us for a fun Saturday of paper piecing.

We are stirring up fun in the kitchen with our 30’s fabrics.  We will be making aprons for young and old.  We’ll be sewing up several styles of pot holders including the popular pot pinchers.  And we’ll be decorating dish towels, and making an adorable oven door dress.  We’re also making a beautiful 9-patch tablecloth.  If you’d like to learn, but prefer different fabric – come join us.  All of our kitchen items look great in any fabric.  These would make your kitchen (or a friend’s kitchen) look sensational in our new Amy Butler fabric.
